Kate Davis, Ed.D., LCPC

Kate Davis, Ed.D. is an accomplished organizational consultant and executive coach with over 20 years of experience in supporting organizations and leaders with processes and approaches for achieving their vision and goals. She specializes in executive and leadership coaching, individual personal and professional development, and physician leader resilience and well-being.  Kate’s passion is in helping individuals live with intention as they define meaning, clarify goals, and achieve extraordinary results in their personal and professional lives. This work generates energized leaders, motivated individuals, and breakthrough organizational outcomes.

 

Kate supports leaders in becoming effective communicators who can enhance and leverage their emotional intelligence to engage and inspire others, build collaborative processes across functional groups, initiate difficult conversations, and effectively resolve conflict. Using these advanced communication skills, leaders create opportunities where ideas emerge as well as pathways that transform new ideas into practice. Kate is keenly perceptive, highly intuitive, easy to connect with, and can ask the powerful questions that generate insights, learning, and new ideas.  

 

During her 15 years of work inside a large healthcare system, Kate developed an intimate knowledge of healthcare organizations. She has a clear understanding of the challenges faced by clinical staff, especially nurses and physicians, who work in the intense and ever-changing healthcare environment. She has provided coaching and consultation to hospital leaders and physician outpatient practices, as well as senior executives at the system level. In addition, she has developed and implemented a Physician Leadership Development program that supported physicians in becoming organizational leaders with knowledge and skills to work effectively inside organizational culture. 

 

Kate’s professional background includes various roles within MedStar Health including Director of Operations Innovation, Language and Culture Access; Director of Learning and Organization Development for MedStar Montgomery Medical Center; Director of Culture Development for the MedStar Institute for Innovation; and Internal Consultant for the Total Eldercare Office. In addition, Kate has worked as an Employee Assistance Counselor for several federal agencies, private for-profit companies and non-profit hospitals; as a Family Therapist for Montgomery County Child and Adolescent Services; and as a psychotherapist in private practice.

Education

Kate holds the following degrees and license: Ed.D., Human and Organizational Learning, George Washington University; M.S., Marriage and Family Therapy, California Lutheran University; B.A., Sociology, University of San Francisco; Maryland License, Clinical Professional Counselor. She is currently working toward Associated Certified Coach (ACC) certification through the International Coaching Federation.
